Meet Becky

Becky HarrisBecky Harris has a passion for helping Nevadans and is a strong advocate for Nevada’s families.  She works tirelessly to improve our children’s education and seeks to find ways to ensure needed dollars reach the classroom.  Having raised two children who attended public school in Las Vegas, Becky is keenly aware of the difficulties facing public schools in Clark County.

Becky also assists and advocates for Nevadans who are financially distressed. A certified mediator, Becky has assisted the Nevada Foreclosure Mediation Program for several years, is effective in assisting homeowners and banks resolve their differences and passed legislation to help struggling families during the 2015 Legislative Session.

Becky has been recognized by numerous organizations for her work; including the Nevada Association of School Boards and the National Education Association Republican Education Caucus.

Becky serves on the following Committees:

  • Nevada Academic Standards Council;
  • Education Commission of the States; and
  • P-20W Council

Becky studied Political Science and French at Brigham Young University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in 1989. She attended law school at J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University, graduating in 1992. Shortly after moving to Las Vegas, Becky obtained a Master Degree in Political Science at UNLV, graduating in 2000. Becky recently completed an LLM in Gaming Law at UNLV Boyd School of Law and graduated in December 2016.
